Equal time

Cloud the Long-Haired Beauty informed me today that in her opinion there have been, and I quote, "too many damned dog photos on this website." So when she posed on top of a bed, what could I do but obey? I warned her this may produce a spurt of canine adorableness from Andif's camera, but Cloud merely sniffed at that threat, much in the way that Miss American might sniff at a pack of Boy Scouts. Hey, I'm not responsible for her moods; I'm just the photojournalist here.

She looks so fierce in photos, and yet she's the sweetest, most gentle and loving cat in the whole wide world.

Cats!??! The dogs can't believe you'd do this to them -- I told them to calm down and not lose their heads over this but ...

What can I say except "But wait there's more" because it's still time for the Monday Picture Post and yep, I'm still looking down.

Morning all.

She is a very cute kitteh! Andi's pack should spend the entire day overcompensating for having been upstaged, which should be a truckload of fun for Andi. ;p

Here is Lucy being all cute on the sofa & Wes chilling on his afternoon napping perch.

The closest I can get to cats and dogs is that it's supposed to rain like that later. :-)

I'm just happy to see all of these great pictures...thanks for sharing!!

Hope your Monday is almost as good as your Friday will be! Waving to all here, and all to come.

Morning, all! ::yawns::

I am so not ready to go back into the work week. :)

Adore the kitty pics and of course, the pack pics!!

Off to the mimes...

Sprite, ready to write — he's got an idea that's just lighting up him, he's got a computer… and no typing skillz.

Andi, the pack looks like they're wearing the tree on their head(s)!

About time we had some cats!

Nancy P said...

Andi, the Dog With A Tree for a Head photo! Too funny. Cloud wants to know if she can shove him all the way up there. And the others photos. Ah, happy Blog Mom. Thanks so much.

Far, your debbil cat is gorgeous.

Ah, Jen, your babies are growing up. So sweet. I wantz 2 pet them.

Beth, lol. Are you going back to WRW? I see they have only two openings left.

Lisa, Kimberly, any of you going to this spring's WRW? (I'm not this year.) Writers Retreat Workshop, fyi.

Don't forget to wear your mimers lantern, Maria.

Dina, Cloud likes you.

Sprite's a big love lug. He gets a little nervous when surrounded by strangers, but is always ready for a cuddle. Kind of like your Cloud. He only meows when he's stressing (like when Daughter Dearest takes him in for a b-a-t-h); usually he chirps and squeaks.

Can't, Nancy. Not in the budget right now. I'm very sad. :-(

Jen, Lucy is so cute that even the odgs are swooning.

We've been have proverbial weather here too, Beth. But at least I get rainwater soft dogs out of it (and I hope the proverbially promised flowers).

Farf, the little critter* in the tree says "Yeah, clown hats".

Nancy, that little critter says to tell Cloud that she knows where she can shove it.

Hi Dina and Maria.

* I couldn't tell for sure what it was because all I could see were its claws in the hole above Sniff but I think the claws were too long for a squirrel so I'm thinking young possum.

LOVE CAT PICTURES.
I'm a reincarnated cat myself and hope to come back as one again. I must have been bad at one point ending up human this time around.
Jen--It's a kittie life at your house for sure.

Andi--Love the Tree Heads.

Alas No WRW for me this year. Timing is wrong. It's the last week of school and I can't take that off. The August one is the first week of school so the same problem.

Marvelous Monday to ALL.

I love cat chirps. Although, now that I think of it, in my experience they are frequently accompanied by the sight of a cat considering pouncing on a bird.

Andi, lol! Cloud files her nails and looks bored.

Lisa, there's a political site where the blog owner used to hold regular Friday Cat Picture events that made everybody either go Awwww or else make funny snarky comments from dogs. I think other blogs still do it, albeit some of them with other animals. Friday Lizard Pictures, for instance. I'm loving seeing all the pet photos. Maybe we could add an animal photo day every now and then, as we do with poetry?

Kelly does Friday Cat Blogging on his site - when he's not buried in a project. (waving to lurking Kelly)

Animal pix sound good to me! As long as we have Teddy Bear Tuesday every now and then... :-)

lol, funny pix of the pups and glorious pix of the flowers and creek. Andif, I am serious when I suggest you make a calendar from your nature photos. I'd buy one. Your pix are better than the nature calendar I bought this year.

I'm lovin' the show down between the pups and the kittehs! lol Farf, I noticed the mouse is missing in that photo. ;-)

How cool was that to have a teacher from Chile here yesterday! Our internationally famous blog mom is drawing them in from all over! Yay, Nancy! Maricel, keep coming back!

Nancy, didn't you read the disclaimer on that web site? No peeps were harmed in the making of those photos. Just a warning of what happens when smokers include alcohol to their outing. lol

I'm worn out from working too many hours lately. Soooo, I'm taking Friday off to work in the yard. The forecast is for sunny 60's! :-D

Have a great week everyone.

AndiF said...

Thanks bono but no calendar. However if you just traipse on down to the Book Loft in Nashville, Indiana, you can buy notecards with my photos on 'em. :)

Lisa, while I've always been a cat person, I think I must have been a Sheltie last time around. When I'm with a group of people, I tend to bring up the rear and keep them all in sight…

Love all the kitty and doggy pictures today.

Just got home from jury duty. Now off to get something to eat - maybe a big juicy burger.

Since we're in a dogs and cats world, here's one of each.

Sunning

Old Dog lay in the summer sun
Much to lazy to rise and run.
He flapped an ear
At a buzzing fly.
He winked a half opened
Sleepy eye.
He scratched himself
On an itching spot,
As he dozed on the porch
Where the sun was hot.
He whimpered a bit
From force of habit
While he lazily dreamed
Of chasing a rabbit.
But Old Dog happily lay in the sun
Much to lazy to rise and run.

Catalogue

Cats sleep fat and walk thin.
Cats, when they sleep, slump;
When they wake, stretch and begin
Over, pulling their ribs in.
Cats walk thin.

Cats wait in a lump,
Jump in a streak.
Cats, when they jump, are sleek
As a grape slipping its skin--
They have technique.
Oh, cats don't creak.
They sneak.

Cats sleep fat.
They spread out comfort underneath them
Like a good mat,
As if they picked the place
And then sat;
You walk around one
As if he were the City Hall
After that.

If male,
A cat is apt to sing on a major scale;
This concert is for everybody, this
Is wholesale.
For a baton, he wields a tail.

(He is also found,
When happy, to resound
With an enclosed and private sound.)

A cat condenses.
He pulls in his tail to go under bridges,
And himself to go under fences.
Cats fit
In any size box or kit,
And if a large pumpkin grew under one,
He could arch over it.

When everybody else is just ready to go out,
The cat is just ready to come in.
He's not where he's been.
Cats sleep fat and walk thin.

Jim, those are fun. I especially loved this:

So true!

Jury duty, Maryb? Did we know that?

Far, lol!

bono, whew! I was so worried about the peeps.

Andif's postcards are very very wonderful.
